Night Moves

I've been working on ED's 350, and decided while buttoning her back up, I'd get a few pictures of this stealthy ride.

The Human Condition

The human condition of loving what you do.

I spend a fair amount of time thinking about what would happen if I could build bikes full time? If I won the lottery and had more money than I knew what to do with, I’m sure I would love it forever. I could build amazing bikes then raffle them off for charity. Use the gift that god gave me, and the luck as well to help people. This seems like an amazing way to spend a life when money is no concern. But what if this was my livelihood? What if I put braces in my unborn child’s crooked-ass teeth by doing oil changes? What if this love put a roof over my family? I wonder if the excitement would eventually wear off and it would feel like a job. They say “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”, and at that point I think your work, your passion, defines you. I guess it comes down to the all mighty dollar. If times get tight, you might start to reconsider what the hell you are doing in the first place. The combined pressure of running a business and supporting a family might kill the joy of working with your hands, and the love for your career. So what is better, a good Job you hate and a great hobby, or risk it all for something you really care about.

I guess we’ll see.
